An emergency regime was imposed on Tuapse as a result of an oil leak on the Tikhoretsk-Tuapse pipeline. About 90% of the oil has been collected. Some 330 people and dozens of vehicles are clearing the spilt oil, Interfax reports.
Oil has polluted the River Tuapse and the Black Sea. The spill has been contained. The storm hindered rescue work, waves have been reaching heights of 2 to 3 meters. Vladimir Lybanev, the head of the Tuapsinsky District, said that specialists were monitoring the coastline and analyzing the water for the presence of oil.
