"Sunzhenskaya" gang members eliminated in Ingushetia

The National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC) has reported about the killing of three militants in Ingushetia.


In addition, new details of the operation have become known.


Initially, the Office of the Federal Security Service and the Russian Interior Ministry in Ingushetia received information that the militants were travelling on public transport.


"The bandits were surrounded by law enforcement officials, who asked them to surrender. In response, the bandits opened fire with automatic weapons at special forces and were eliminated in a brief shootout," Interfax quotes and statement by the NAC.


All of them were in the "Sunzhenskaya" gang, and one of them — Ramzan Mahauri — is one of its leaders.


"On account of the gang, terrorist crimes, including firing at soldiers near the village of Dattyh in September 2012, the organization of a suicide bombing in Sernovodsk in September 2013, as well as more than a dozen attacks on law enforcement bodies, shootings and explosions of homemade explosive devices," the NAC said.


After the operation, law enforcement officers found two guns, a Kalashnikov rifle and four grenades, including 3 home-made ones.
