Eight citizens of Georgia were on board Norman Atlantic

Eight citizens of Georgia were on board the burning ferry Norman Atlantic, five of them were evacuated by rescuers and taken 

to other vessels.


There is no precise information about the whereabouts of three other people who were on the ferry. According to the Georgian 
Foreign Ministry, they supposedly "appear among the passengers who were evacuated last night on the other ships." Among them 
was an Orthodox priest who was heading to Italy.


On Sunday a fire started on the ferry Norman Atlantic, which was sailing under the flag of Italy from the Greek port of 
Patras to the Italian port of Ancona. According to the latest information cited by TASS, Italian and Greek rescue workers 
have evacuated 316 people from the burning ferry.
