Flood warning declared in Yeysky District

The authorities of Krasnodar Territory are evacuating the population from two villages on the coast of the Sea of Azov in the Yeysky District. Flood risks in the area were discussed by the Regional Security Council under the chairmanship of Governor Alexander Tkachyov. In his words, wind speeds have reached 35m/s, up to 8,500 people could be affected by floods, TASS reports.


The Ministry for Emergencies declared wind speeds of up to 20m/s in the Yeysky, Primorsko-Akhtarsky, Slavyansky, Temryuksky, Tuapsinsky and Shcherbinovsky districts, as well as the cities of Anapa, Gelendzhik, Novorossiysk and Sochi.
