Over a ton of drugs was confiscated in the Adana province of Turkey. 1.5 tons of narcotics were confiscated in Hakkari Province yesterday, Trend reports.
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said yesterday that anti-drug efforts had been intensified, the country was planning to open more narcological clinics.
23,738 people arrested in Turkey (18% of all arrested) were involved in drug dealing. Turkey has detained 316,466 people in Istanbul in the last four years for drug consumption and trade. Healthcare Minister responsible Mehmet Muezzinoglu said that unlicensed sale of psychoactive drugs was illegal. Davutoglu noted that drug dealers will be put on a level with terrorists.
