Lars checkpoint closed due to avalanches

High avalanche danger in the Gudauri-Kobi-Stepantsminda-Lars Georgian Military Road area today forced the Georgian Department of Highways to close traffic on this section for all modes of transport, thus interrupting auto service between Russia and Georgia through the Lars checkpoint.

According to Trend, the Paravani Pass towards Tsalka (in eastern Georgia) is also closed. All of the other Georgian roads are working as usual.
