Two US military operations recently carried out to free hostages seized by militants of the terrorist group "Islamic State" in Syria have failed.
According to RIA Novosti, the two operations were in the city of Raqqa, one of the centers of IS, their goal was to save hostages, including the Jordanian pilot Muaz Al Kasasbeha, who was taken prisoner on Wednesday. Five coalition aircraft were planned to fly at low level over Raqqa, while on the outskirts 12 raids by soldiers were conducted.
Two US Air Force helicopters could not carry out a planned landing of military in the north-east of Raqqa after they were fired on by terrorists. Even later in the countryside they could not do so, as missiles of IS overtook them.
