The head of the National Search and Rescue Agency of Indonesia, Bambang Soelistio, said that Indonesian rescuers searching for the missing AirAsia airliner have found the tail of the plane, which may contain the “black box” flight recorders.
"We've found the tail section of the aircraft," TASS cities Soelistio, "Today this was our main objective." The tail of the aircraft was found by specialist divers involved in the search operation.
On December 28 the AirAsia plane disappeared from radar screens about 40 minutes after departing from the Indonesian city of Surabaya on a flight to Singapore in the area of Kalimantan. 155 passengers and seven crew members were on board.
