Two unidentified men have shot and taken an unknown number of hostages in the French town of Dammarten-en-Goel in the department of Seine-et-Marne.
French media report that police have confirmed that the criminals are the Kouachi brothers, wanted for committing a terrorist act in the office of the Charlie Hebdo magazine. According to the minister of the interior, Bernard Cazeneuve, the town is hosting a police operation. Riot police and anti-terrorist units of the gendarmerie have now arrived in the industrial area where events are unfolding.
Three helicopters are flying in the skies above the scene of an accident. Entry and exit from the territory of the commune have been discontinued and a cordon has been imposed.
