Russian humor festivals of the Club of the Funny and Inventive (KVN) “Golosyashchy KiViN” and “Jurmalina” won’t take place this year in Jurmala, a resort town in Latvia. Initiators officially canceled holding these arrangements in the concert hall of Dzintari.
The administration of the town is sorry about such a decision by the initiators. “At the same time, they asked the town to book Dzintari for the dates next year,” TASS cites the Jurmala Duma.
“It is a pity that the two big traditional events won’t be held in Jurmala in summer. It seems the initiators of the events had no choice, as Russia remains in a very difficult socio-economic and political situation. I think it is obviously an issue of big politics,” the Mayor of Jurmala Gatis Truksnis said.
“Golosyashchy KiViN” had been being held in Jurmala for 14 years.
