The lawyers for Jokhar Tsarnaev, who is accused of committing a terrorist act at the Boston Marathon in April 2013, have asked the court to suspend the jury selection in light of the tragic events in France.
According to TASS, the lawyers believe that because of the terrorist attacks in Paris, the jury could discriminate against the defendant. A break in their selection of at least a month could reduce this prejudice.
The defense have tried repeatedly to delay the trial, but the court has consistently denied these requests.
