The Parliament of Georgia is preparing amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure as part of the campaign against terrorism and the participation of citizens in wars and armed conflicts abroad.

The Code of Criminal Procedure includes a new article 312, which says that the participation of citizens of Georgia in illegal groups abroad or preparations and calls for such participation will be punishable by imprisonment," the Minister of Justice Thea Tsulukiani said.

She also explained that "absolutely all illegal formations will be considered to be criminal" on the territory of any country.

"The bill was prepared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, and on December 18, 2014 the government already submitted it to parliament," Trend cited the minister.
