The residents of Astrakhan organised the largest round dance and baked the longest cake, breaking two world records on their City Day, RIA Novosti reports.
City Day is celebrated in Astrakhan on the first Sunday in October, and this year marks the 452nd anniversary of the founding of the settlement, in which representatives of 130 ethnic groups live together in peace.
6,974 people participated in the dance around the Astrakhan Kremlin. The longest cake in the world, baked for the celebration. was named 'Volga - symbol of Russia'. Its length is 247 meters and 17 centimeters, and weighs - 8 tons. These records are already registered in Russia and now a claim for a Guinness world record is being prepared.
