Law enforcement officers of the Stavropol Region have detained two tax officials of the regional center. They are suspected of fraud on an especially large scale.
"Two employees of the tax service of Stavropol city for three years, using their official position, have been putting false data in an automated system for the right to receive the property tax deductions of 30 citizens. With debit cards and personal accounts the attackers have stolen cash amounting to more than 5 million 400 thousand rubles," the portal YUGA cites the message of the press service of the State Ministry of Interior for Stavropol Territory.
In the course of search operations, the participants of the crime were arrested and taken to the police department for further investigation.
