At the 65th Berlin Film Festival the movie "Under Electric Clouds" by Russian director Alexei German Jr. won the award for outstanding contribution to the arts. The award ceremony took place on Saturday at the Palace of the Berlinale.
The poetic drama "Under Electric Clouds" consists of several short stories that tell about the lives of different people - from troubled teens to successful architects, and wealthy heirs to Kyrgyz labor migrants. The action takes place in Russia in 2017. All the characters are tormented by the question of the meaning of life and a premonition of impending war. The movie was created as a co-production between Russia, Ukraine and Poland.
