Migrants cut hands to stay in Russia

 

8 migrants stationed at the Temporary Detention Center of Moscow have cut their hands. An inspection was initiated, the head of the center was temporarily dismissed, RIA Novosti reports.Some media reported that the migrants cut themselves as a protest against their detention conditions. The Russian Federal Migration Service insists that the Center meets international standards. The Service added that migrants would sometimes purposefully injure themselves to avoid deportation from Russia.
