On February 28, the Deputy Prime Minister of North Ossetia, Rustem Kelekhsaev, held a meeting on the situation with the incidence of influenza and SARS in the region.
Also during the meeting, the Minister of Health of Ossetia, Vladimir Selivanov, spoke about rumors spreading on social networks, with SMS and phone calls about an alleged plague sweeping the region.
"I officially declare there is no plague in the country, there was not and hopefully it will not happen. This is a provocation, sabotage, a pure and simple lie that someone in particular has "surged" on social networks. With regard to the motives of the "surge", it is a question for the law enforcement agencies. We asked about it already from the Interior Ministry and FSB. This is a crime against the people of North Ossetia," the head of the Ministry of Health is quoted by news portal YUGA
