Turkish Airlines plane misses runway in Kathmandu

A Turkish Airlines airliner overran the runway at one of the airports in Nepal.

 

"An Airbus 330 with 238 passengers and crew on board made a flight from Istanbul to Kathmandu. The passengers had bumps and bruises but no serious injuries," TASS cited the authorities of Nepal. 

 

The runway was slippery after two days of rain and there was dense fog at the time.

 

The only international airport in Nepal remained closed on Wednesday morning after the incident.
