Iranian spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is alive and well, and reports about him being in hospital in critical condition are nothing more than rumors, or someone attempting to destabilize the situation in the republic, said the Dean of the School of International Studies at the University of Tehran, Sayed Mohammad Marandi, whose father, a surgeon, led the operation on Khamenei few months ago, and since then, in fact, has been the attendant physician of Ayatollah.
"I know people who met him in the last two or three days, and they say that he is completely healthy. The operation that the leader suffered a few months ago was quite normal. Now Khamenei works in his usual schedule, conducts meetings, teaches as a professor three times a week in the mornings, and regularly goes to the mountains. Many times there have been reports that he was ill, that he was hospitalized, but it turns out that this is not the case. The only time Khamenei really went to hospital no one knew about it, before it was officially declared by Iran," said Marandi, 'Vesti' reports.
In September 2014 Ayatollah Khamenei had surgery because of advanced cancer, and on Thursday Israeli media reported that the supreme leader was hospitalized in critical condition, the channel 'Russia-24' reports. Official confirmation of that from Tehran has not been reported yet.
