Kadyrov made a Companion of Honor

Russian President Vladimir Putin has made the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, a Companion of Honor. 

 

Kadyrov received the award "for his outstanding achievements, social activities and many years of honest work.

 

"The same decree gives the order "For Services to the Fatherland" of 2nd degree to the nine-time Olympic champion in rhythmic gymnastics, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, a member of Board of Trustees of the Russian Olympians Foundation, Larisa Latynina, Interfax reports. 

 

Putin also awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky to the Governor of Rostov Region Vasily Golubev and political commentator, journalist and writer Valentin Zorin, who celebrated in early February his 90th birthday. 

 

In addition, Putin awarded the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Oktay Asadov and four American veterans who during World War II participated in the Arctic convoys.
