The Republican Center of the Seismological Service of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) said that an earthquake was recorded in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea on March 12 at 04:42 local time.
The earthquake's magnitude was equivalent to 4.7 points on the Richter scale. The epicenter was located at a depth of 48 km and in 13 km south-east of the Astara district.
In the nearest settlements tremors were felt with the power of 3-4 points, Trend reports.
