The Dagestani Culture Ministry has announced a contest for a composition of a new anthem for the republic. The two stages of the contest will be held on March 20 - June 20 and July 1 - September 1, Dagestanskaya Pravda reports.
Professional and amateur composers, poets, music groups, studios and unions may take part. The current anthem of Dagestan belongs to Shirvani Chalayev, People's Artist of the Dagestani ASSR, Honorary and People's Artist of the RSFSR.
