Russian Orthodox Church delegation to take part in celebration of Svetitshovloba in Georgia

A Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) delegation arrives in Georgia on the 13th of October. Delegations from Serbia, Romania, Albania, Jerusalem, Greece and America arriver in Georgia today, Georgia Online has been informed by the Patriarchate of Georgia.

On the 14th of October Georgia celebrates the day of Svetitshovlob, one of the major religious holidays of the country dedicated to the Lord’s Heaton and the Pillars of Life-Creation.

The main events on this day traditionally take place in Mtskheta, in the Svetitskhovelli Cathedral. It was built in 1010-1029 by the architect Arsakisdze on the site of the first Christian church in Georgia.
