In Turkmenistan, on March 21 and 22 the national spring holiday Nowruz is being celebrated. On this occasion, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed the people of neutral Turkmenistan.
"Nowruz is a great holiday, which reflects the distinctive, beautiful habits and traditions, valuable qualities of many nations, including Turkmenistan, which has enriched the treasury of human civilization with bright pearls," the President said, Trend reports.
"It is deeply symbolic that the ancient festival of the Eastern peoples, including Turkmen, symbolizing the vernal equinox and the beginning of field work, in the Year of Neutrality and Peace approves our ancestral principles of peaceful coexistence, good neighborliness, friendship and brotherhood, that meets the interests and specific goals of all humanity and is aimed at enhancing international cooperation," the head of Turkmenistan said.
In 2013 the Turkmenistan Nowruz spring festival was celebrated at the regional level with the participation of heads of state and government delegations of neighboring countries. In connection with the celebration of Nowruz, the holiday in the country moved from March 22 to March 23 in 2015.
