In January of this year in Azerbaijan 5.6 thousand marriages were registered, while in the same period of last year the number was 5.4 thousand, the State Statistics Committee reported today.
Also, the number of divorces has increased, reaching 1.1 thousand. In January of last year the number was a thousand, Trend reports.
The number of marriages per 1000 population is 6.9, divorces - 1.4.
In comparison with the year before last, in 2014 the number of marriages decreased, while divorces grew. Last year in Azerbaijan 12.1 thousand people divorced and 84.9 thousand people married.
