UNESCO chair formed in Derbent

 

A UNESCO chair was opened at the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the Dagestani State University and the Derbent Open Air Museum. The chair will focus on comparative research of religious traditions, culture and interreligious dialogue in the North Caucasus, as stated by Dmitry Spivak, the head of the chair, at an international conference “Derbent – the city of three religions”, RIA Novosti reports.Spivak believes that Dagestan has serious experience in holding interreligious and intercultural dialogues.
