Soldiers of Russian military base in Armenia baptized

 

Over 100 soldiers of the Russian military base in Gyumri have been baptized by Archimandrite Andrey (Vats) in the St. Martyr Mercurius of Smolensk Temple at the Alagyaz Training Complex. The temple was built to honour the saint who distinguished himself in the fight against the Tatar-Mongol oppression, RIA Novosti reports.The priest blessed over 1,000 weapons and about 300 military vehicles and facilities.The military received the New Testament and Psalms as a gift from Patriarch of Moscow and All-Russia Kirill.
