The electricity supply to Turkey’s major cities, such as Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, was stopped at 10:36 local time, the TRT Haber news channel reports.
The subways in these cities also stopped working as a result of the power outage. The traffic lights also don’t work, which is causing traffic jams, Trend reports.
The causes of the power outage in these cities are being established and work is under way to resume the electricity supply.
