Kabardino-Balkaria commemorates victims of Nalchik attack

Kabardino-Balkaria is commemorating the police officers who were killed in Nalchik on October 13-14, 2005 during a large scale militant attack. 12 civilians and 35 police officers were killed. 95 militants also died in the assault on the city.


The premier of Kabardino-Balkaria, Alexander Merkulov, said that extremist and propaganda activities in the republic continue, resulting in the deaths of civilians and police officers, RIA Novosti reports.


He urged all state structures and citizens to unite against terrorism and extremism.


Kabardino-Balkaria honored the dead with a minute of silence.
