Yerevan has held a solemn opening of the Memorial Alley dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Diplomats, WWII veterans and young people have planted pines on the Alley. Russian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volynkin expressed joy that Armenia took part in marking the 70th anniversary, RIA Novosti reports.
The diplomat noted that Armenians took an important part in the war. He added that Russia and Armenia should intensify efforts to keep memories about the past alive.
