National dolls will soon be released in Chechnya. The sketches are currently being developed. This has been announced by the Commissioner for Children's Rights in Chechnya Khamzat Hirahmatov.
"By the end of April we will have prepared the sketches of dolls and a the presentation of the project. The representatives of other entities of the country have already expressed their desire to visit the show. We will present nine dolls representing Chechen folk heroes and historical figures. The production, according to our plans, will start in Mayabout 10 thousand dolls will be initially released," the official website of the head of the government of the Republic quotes Hirahmatov.
The Commissioner adds that today's popular Western toys are based on cartoons and are aggressive.
"As we can see, they are widely popular, but have negative impact on a child's psyche. These toys are modeled on the images of some dubious characters such as Spider-man and Transformers. Accordingly children move away from their roots, trying to emulate foreign cultures. Of course, this is an alarming situation. Therefore, we propose abandoning western toys and setting up the production of our national dolls. This will help to ensure that children are attached to their culture and history, the customs and traditions of their people," the children's ombudsman said.
The authorities also intend to raise the younger generation's interest in the new dolls.
"To this end, we plan to publish fascinating stories about national heroes. In addition, in the future, we intend to make cartoons and theatrical productions based on these stories. Work in this direction is underway. We will also hold events at which a portion of the dolls will be distributed to pupils of pre-school education institutions. We are confident that these and other measures will help to ensure that children will love our national dolls," Hirahmatov said.
