Alleged Turkish terrorist detained in Italy

 

Unal Erdel, a medic with Austrian citizenship, has been detained in Venice, where he temporarily stayed with his Austrian wife and children, as a member of the extremist Revolutionary People's Liberation Party–Front, according to Italian Interior Minister Angelino Alfano. The organization is responsible for the recent attack on the Justice Palace in Istanbul, RIA Novosti reports.The Italian police say that Erdel is accused of terrorism in Turkey, attacks of 1995, recruitment of new members.The Revolutionary People's Liberation Party–Front took a prosecutor hostage at the Justice Palace on March 31, demanding arrest of the police officers responsible for killing a 15-year-old teenager during the protests in 2013. Both terrorists and the prosecutor were killed in a special operation that followed.
