The jury has declared Dzhokhar Tsarnayev from Chechnya guilty of organizing the blast at the Boston Marathon. The final verdict – execution or life imprisonment – may be made already next week.
The jury consisting of seven women and five men spent five hours discussing Tsarnayev’s responsibility in the tragedy. They declared him guilty of 30 charges. He may be executed for 17 of them alone.
The trial of Tsarnayev started on March 5. The jury heard testimonies of 95 witnesses throughout 16 days of the trial.
