She noted that she might not be able to attend the European Games, but often visits Baku as a member of the Duma Committee on CIS Affairs and Compatriots.Businessman and philanthropist Alisher Usmanov is of a similar opinion to Rodnina. He said that in the last 10 years the Azerbaijani leadership has been helping "Azerbaijan to occupy a leading position in sports in Europe."Usmanov, the President of the International Fencing Federation, will definitely go to Baku this summer to attend the Games.The head coach of the Russian national team in synchronized swimming, Tatiana Pokrovksaya, was also confident that Azerbaijan will excel in the organization of the Games. Azerbaijan will do its best in organizing the European Games at a high level, the head coach of the Russian national team in synchronized swimming, Tatiana Pokrovskaya, said in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza.She noted that Baku will host the first international competition in synchronized swimming. 

The president of the All-Russian Sambo Federation, Sergey Eliseyev, believes that the Games will contribute to the overall development of sports in Europe. "Such large multimedia events always facilitate development, particularly of sports which have not not yet been recognized by the Olympic Committee."
