The representative of the Governor of Laghman province, Sarhadi Zhvak, said that militants of one of the local gangs set fire to a hospital in eastern Afghanistan.
Currently none of the groups operating in the region have taken responsibility for the arson attack. Previously, such attacks on hospitals, schools and office buildings was carried out by radical Islamists who advocate the imposition of Sharia law.
