Wildfires do not threaten North Caucasus

About 300 soldiers of the Southern Military District are involved in the activities, more than 200 units of engineering, fire and other equipment were allocated, the press service of the district said.


"The structure of the task group includes about 100 fire engines on the basis of KAMAZ cars, 3 Mi-8 helicopters and one Mi-26, equipped with waterpumping devices," TASS cited the report.


The head of the fire and rescue forces and civil defense forces of the North Caucasian Regional Emergency Center of Russia, Peter Volkov, told Vestnik Kavkaza that in the North Caucasus Federal District all measures are being taken to prevent a recurrence of recent events.


"I can assure you that today all measures are being taken to prevent such a situation," he said.


"In general, the forces and means to deal with possible emergencies are ready in the Federal District," Peter Volkov concluded.
