An 18-year-old student from Saint Petersburg has been suspected of joining the ranks of ISIS and recruiting friends to the terrorist organization. The student is currently in Syria, arriving there through Turkey, Interfax reports.
The criminal case against the student was initiated in early 2015. The police had had problems detaining people associated with the organization before it was recognized as extremist. The police have searched through apartments of Saint Petersburg citizens suspected of recruiting ISIS members on the Internet. The suspects are currently in Syria as well.
