Turkey prevents series of terrorist attacks

Turkey's intelligence service prevented a series of terrorist attacks, which the far-left Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C) planned to carry out in Turkey.


The terrorists planned to carry out attacks in several provinces of Turkey, at police stations, as well as to assassinate several major businessmen, Anadolu agency reports.Some militants of the terrorist organization underwent diving courses to attack ships in the coastal areas of the country.DHKP-C is responsible for terrorist acts committed in May 2013 in the town of Reyhanli in the Turkish province of Hatay, which killed 46 and injured 155 people.Members of this group also committed a terrorist attack on the US Embassy in Ankara, which killed a security guard of the embassy and injured one person.Armed men of this group took the Prosecutor Selim Kiraz hostage in the Palace of Justice in Istanbul on March 31. Kiraz was wounded by five bullets during a special operation to free him and died in hospital, Trend reports.
