Belbek military airport in Crimea will take civilian airplanes

Sevastopol's Belbek military airport is beginning procedures to prepare for the reception of civilian airplanes, the governor of Sevastopol Sergey Menyailo said. According to him, it might take from two to three months to prepare the necessary documents.

"Now we need to license the airport, make an official examination of the strip. It will take from one and a half to three months. We have arrangements with Rosaviation," TASS quoted Menyailo as saying.

The Sevastopol authorities intend to sign the document in the next few days. "Next week I will sign an agreement on joint use of the Belbek airfield. The Russian Defense Ministry has already signed it," Menyailo said.
