Alexei Zhuravsky elected Ataman of the Stavropol Cossacks.
A reporting and election meeting of Cossack society took place in Stavropol. Governor Vladimir Vladimirov has become one of the members of the meeting, his press service reports.
394 elected Stavropol Cossacks of the District came to the meeting. The main item on the agenda was the election of the district ataman.
"Attempts to split Cossack society are continuing, but I believe in the power of our unity. Being a patriot of our region and as a Stavropol Cossack I want to say that we have one faith, one land, one country. And we have a common aim: to make our homeland stronger and highly developed," Vladimir Vladimirov concluded.
According to the voting, Aleksandr Zhukovsky has been elected to be the ataman of the district.
