The Azerbaijani cultural community has suffered a heavy loss. Yesterday the 93-year-old director of the Memorial Museum of the founder of Azerbaijani professional vocal art, People's Artist of the USSR Bulbul, who had personal scholarship of the President of Azerbaijan Republic, Adelaide Irza gyzy Mammadova, passed away.
Adelaide Mammadova was born on August 22 in 1922 in Tbilisi. After graduating from high school, she studied at the Tbilisi School of Law at the People's Commissariat of Justice of Georgia.
When in 1977 the memorial museum of the founder of the Azerbaijan professional vocal art Bulbul was opened, Adelaide Mammadov was appointed as director.
The merits of Adelaide Mamedov in the organization of museums in Azerbaijan and promotion of the cultural heritage of our people are highly appreciated. She was awarded one of the highest awards of Azerbaijan, the Order of Shohrat, as well as an honorary diploma of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic.
