Chechnya is holding the Clean Coast eco campaign to clear garbage from water bodies in the districts of Groznensky, Gudermessky, Kurchaloyevsky, Shelkovsky, Nozhay-Yurtovsky and the Shalinsky and Argun districts, the Chechen government reports.
Members of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Chechnya, fire-fighters, members of the Chechen Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, district administrations, pupils and volunteers are partaking in the campaign.
About 12km of coastlines have been cleaned of about 7 tons of garbage.
