Governor of Krasnodar Territory to visit flood-stricken Tuapsin region

The Governor of Krasnodar Territory, Alexander Tkachov, will visit the village of Kirpichnoye in the Tuapsin region on October 18. The village was hit by the heaviest flooding, Yuga.ru reports, citing the administration of the region.


The flooding started on October 16. Heavy rains caused floods in 17 villages. Approximately 300 people were evacuated. The village of Kirpichnoye was submerged on Saturday but it is being provided with food.


The administration added that Tkachov will meet locals. October 18 was pronounced a day of mourning.

Tuapsin region is repairing 6 bridges, damaged in the flooding, the southern regional center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry reports.


Two cars and one pedestrian bridge were damaged in the village of Novomikhaylovsk and one car and one pedestrian bridge were damaged in the hamlet of Grecheskiy. A bridge was completely destroyed in the village of Kirpichniy, a cableway was organized.


3 vehicular roads were repaired on October 17, while damaged pedestrian bridges are planned to be repaired on October 20. A total of 500 houses and 2,000 people are located in the flood zone.


14 people died in the floods, 12 of whom have been identified. 9 people are missing.
