Joseph Kobzon hospitalized in presidential clinic in Kazakhstan

Well-known Russian singer Joseph Kobzon was taken to hospital from the universal forum of Kazakh spiritual culture to the presidential clinic in Astana, RIA Novosti reports, citing a source from the Russian delegation.


Kobzon lost conscience at the forum, which was held at the Palace of Independence in Astana.


Kobzon’s health problems started in 2001. He had backache when he was performing in Kazakhstan. The doctors found symptoms of septicemia. A possible reason may be disposition of a portable catheter, leading to blood infection. He spent several days in intensive care at the military-clinical hospital in Krasnodar.
