Chechen writer Ruslan Zakriyev has filed another lawsuit with the court of Stavropol Territory. He insists that James Cameron stole the plot of his film Avatar from the him, RIA Novosti reports.
Zakriyev presented copies of the copyrights for his fantasy novel ‘Secret Weapon’ published on Проза.ру back in 2002, a pre-trial analysis conducted by the Chechen Union of Writers and the text of the novel.
Zakriyev demands compensation amounting to $1 billion for the alleged ripoff. The writer claims that Cameron stole a whole block of the novel. The Alexandrovsky Court left Zakriyev’s lawsuit filed in early April without consideration.
