A 76-year-old Yerevan resident, Gregory Tepoyan, is walking to Moscow. He wants to lay flowers at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin wall on May 9.
Tepoyan devoted the campaign to all the victims of the battles. Five men from his family didn't return from the war, including his father, junior lieutenant Hunan Tepoyan, who was killed near Dnepropetrovsk in December 1943 at the age of 30.
Tepoyan started planning this campaign a year ago: he was doing physical exercises and walking a lot. But his wife and daughter didn't allow him to do it, so he quietly left on March 22 and went to Georgian village of Alastan, from where his father left for war.
Tepoyan can walk 40-50 km a day, and the total length of the road is 2236 km.
