France may deliberately sink two Mistral-class helicopter carriers built for Russia in the open sea if the contract will be cancelled, Le Figaro newspaper reports today.
Among the possible options for destroying the helicopter carriers there is a possibility of scuttling it in the open sea, Segodnya.ru reports.
A French military official told the newspaper that such measures are "unacceptable" with due regard to the employees of Saint-Nazaire, where the huge warships were built. The newspaper also said plans for using the Mistral helicopter carriers by the French Navy are "unlikely", as they have been built in accordance with Russian standards, Russian.rt.com writes.
