A counter-terrorist operation (CTO) regime has been imposed on several streets in Makhachkala, a representative of the Operational Headquarters of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee in Dagestan said.
"At 6:00 a.m. a counter-terrorism operation regime was imposed within Gamidov, Timiryazev and Sulakskaya Streets and the October Revolution channel," TASS cited him as saying.
"Efforts are under way to locate and neutralize the gunmen. The police have cordoned off a house where the gunmen may be hiding," RIA Novosti cited a source in the city law enforcement agencies.
