In the capital of the republic, Cherkessk, in the alley of Military Glory in the Green Island Park, a monument to the Soldier-Liberator has been unveiled. Its height is 4 m. In addition, in the park busts of famous generals were unveiled – Georgi Zhukov, Alexander Pokryshkin, Nikolai Kuznetsov, Vasily Margelov, Konstantin Rokossovsky, Alexander Nevsky, Mikhail Kutuzov, Pavel Nakhimov, Fedor Ushakov and Peter I.
The ceremony was attended by the head of the republic Rashid Temrezov, Presidential Deputy Envoy in the North Caucasus Federal District Mikhail Vedernikov and Mayor Ruslan Tambiyev. "This is an exciting and significant event. I believe it a proper initiative of Cherkessk to create an Alley of Military Glory on Green Island."
