The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mevlut Cavusoglu, said that the start of a joint Turkish-US program to train and arm Syrian rebels fighting the Islamic State group has been delayed.
"The beginning of the program has been pushed back due to technical reasons and not because of any disagreement with the United States," he said in an interview with TRT television channel. He did not say when the program would start.
Earlier, Cavusoglu said that the preparation of the Syrian rebels was to begin on May 9, RIA Novosti reminded.
